Revolutionizing Exhibition Spaces: The Dekton & Cosentino Pavilion

Kris Lin's Design Merges Innovation with Modular Aesthetics

Exploring the intersection of functionality and design, Kris Lin's Dekton and Cosentino Pavilion stands as a testament to the transformative power of innovative materials in creating sustainable and engaging exhibition spaces.

At the heart of "Design Shanghai," Asia's premier design event, the Dekton and Cosentino Pavilion by Kris Lin emerges as a beacon of modern design and sustainability. Covering a 150 square meter area, the pavilion showcases the unique properties of Dekton Slim slabs, which are celebrated for their large size, lightweight nature, seamless integration, and recyclability. These features are not only a nod to the future of exhibition design but also reflect a deep commitment to environmental responsibility.

The pavilion's design philosophy is rooted in the four major attributes of Dekton Slim slabs. The large dimensions of 3.3x1.4 meters allow for a modular approach, while the 4mm thickness reduces structural load, enabling the creation of expansive, uninterrupted surfaces. This approach is evident in the bar counter that seamlessly extends from the floor, presenting a unified aesthetic that is both visually striking and functionally sound.

Functionality is at the forefront of the pavilion's design, with an open layout that invites visitors to engage with the space. The pavilion serves three primary functions: showcasing products, facilitating customer interaction, and providing coffee and water bar services. This multi-functional space is a testament to the versatility of Dekton Slim slabs, which are used in various applications, from wall coverings to furniture, without compromising on design or durability.

The realization of this project is a marvel of prefabricated construction technology. High-precision, factory-made models ensure a swift installation process that can be completed in just 12 hours. This not only cuts labor costs but also significantly reduces pollution. The support system, designed specifically for the slim profile of Dekton Slim, employs light metals or composites to provide stability without placing undue burden on the structure.

Lin's innovative use of a special hook system for the Dekton Slim slabs exemplifies the pavilion's commitment to sustainability. This system allows for easy installation and dismantling, encouraging the reuse of materials and aligning with eco-friendly principles. The result is a space that not only offers a new spatial interaction experience but also leads the way in environmental stewardship within the design industry.

The Dekton and Cosentino Pavilion is not just a showcase of products but a demonstration of Kris Lin's ability to blend functionality with cutting-edge design. It stands as a silver laureate in the A' Trade Show Architecture, Interiors, and Exhibit Design Award in 2024, a testament to its excellence in design and innovation. As visitors move through the space, they are enveloped in an environment that redefines the exhibition experience, one that is as sustainable as it is beautiful.
